KIOSK NETWORKING
KIOSKS are critical applications, and most of the times KIOSKS are networked and there are many ways of Networking. The Networking depends on the location and type of networking to be deployed. In most of the places KIOSKS are networked with either ATM connectivity, Wireless connectivity, 2.4GHz VSAT connectivity or as a standby ISDN connectivity.
The connectivity is very important when there is client server operation. Hence we need to understand the type of connectivity best suited for the application. The Networking also involves studying the terrain and if line of sight is clear, we can use 2.4 GHz.This is the most suitable and viable solution for places where line of sight is clear. The ideal locations are small towns and villages where high rise buildings are not there. We also use ISDN lines for connectivity wherever there is ISDN and where transfer of data is not very critical. This again is most economical, is user friendly and easily maintained.
